Global Mission


The Global Action Team meets approximately every six weeks and focuses on providing awareness of overseas missions within the church.  They also provide direction and support for those considering training for mission or wishing to go overseas with a mission organization.

The church tithes its income to support a wide variety of overseas ministries including the following:

OPEN DOORSsupporting the work in over 70 countries to care and assist Christians who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus.

BIBLE SOCIETY NZ - involvement in the dedication to supplying bibles within New Zealand, and supporting Bible Societies around the world to do the same within their respective countries.

WORLD VISION - a global Christian relief, development and advocacy organization through which the children of VBC support and sponsor a child.

ASHA - An evangelistic and humanitarian outreach, solely supported and funded by the church in East Asia, which has established daycare centres and is involved in supporting the work of locals in their attempts to reach others through evangelism and church planting.

NZBMS - through the NZ Baptist Missionary Society, the church supports missionaries sent by Tranzsend and partners with NZBMS in the annual Prayer and Self Denial Appeal.

FREESET - a ministry affiliated with NZBMS which currently functions as a fair trade operation in East Asia.


VBC is also prayerfully and financially supporting missionaries serving;

  • In East Asia, through a government-approved ministry focusing on families, youth and outreach.
  • In Asia and NZ through raising awareness of human trafficking, the rescue of individuals caught in trafficking and establishing rehabilitation centres within Asia with the support of partners there.
  • In East Asia through training women and being involved in local outreach.
  • And members from our church serving in Cambodia.
